Bug report:
It will not allow me to upload from my hard drive. Gives an error on any image type after upload.
I was able to upload via URL but then when it went to crop mode it kept throwing an error “80×80 is larger than 0×0 and that’s not going to fly”
Last but not least, gif transparency is lost after upload?

This is so confusing. Your interface links to options only available in a paid account even though I don’t have one. You should have a separate layout for people that can only have one email and gravatar at a time, which is most of us. The way it is now is going to be annoying for many people.

Sweet, everything went swimmingly. One thing, though: when it goes to the crop action for my image, it has a black background. But my image also has a black background, so I could hardly see what was going on. A small nitpick, sure.
Glad to have you back!
Mitchell Says:
February 12, 2007 at 6:52 pm
I can’t upload from my hard drive, I get errors. And when I upload from a URL, I get another error, but it says there’s a gravatar in my /emails thing. But it doesn’t show the picture of the actual avatar. Maybe I’ll try with a different browser (I’m using Firefox right now)
Borghal Says:
February 12, 2007 at 6:52 pm
It worked like a charm with me. There are some minor adjustments needed; I’m sending those over the email. Good job, Tom!
Red Says:
February 12, 2007 at 6:52 pm
Uhm… I don’t like the way to change avatar with free accounts. You have to un-register avatar, then you have to click on a cross that appaer on the icon when you go with the mouse on it, then yo have to upload a new image, then you have to activate it….
I think that the 50% of yoers of my blog will not be able to understant it…

Well, if Thomas Edison can get away with it.
Alenônimo Says:
February 12, 2007 at 6:52 pm
That “pay for more” is annoying me. Why don’t you create another interface for free accounts, with messages offering better accounts instead of giving upgrade$ messages at “add more” links?
I don’t now… It seems like you’re deceiving users someway, or at least making the site “just for the money”. I won’t support Gravatar on my sites that way.
If money is your problem, I hope Google buy your site soon.
Andre Says:

Otherwise we cant test the “more-mail/more-picture”-Version
CHESHiRE Says:
February 12, 2007 at 6:52 pm
Hello,
first time I recognized this Gravatar thing signing up was disabled. But I decided to wait because I wanted to know how it works. I looked forward to this day, signed up, made my gravatar. But ist doesn’t work. It doesn’t work even in my very own blog (wordpress).
The image URL that is returned by the gravatar() function links to that blue Gravatar logo. And the default picture I specified is not shown.
Well, maybe it does not work properly because it is currently a beta version. So I’ll still will look forward to…
Sorry if the English is that bad but it’s not my mother tongue. I hope you understand…

Nice beta! I understand that you want to limit the amount of gravatars in a free account but as of now you can get around it but pressing the back button in your browser and upload another one (by this I mean from a URL and not from the hard drive, haven’t tried that) and another one and so on….
I have now 6 gravatars in my account… So you might want to look in to that…
